Rev. Msgr. Patrick Reilly, Pastor Emeritus
Born in Longford, Ireland at age 17 he left for the seminary at Mungret in Limerick. Three years later, he boarded the Britannia, setting sail for the United States. Here he entered St. John's Seminary in Camarillo.On May 1, 1958 he was ordained into the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at St . Vibiana's Cathedral. That same year he became a U.S. citizen.
Father Reilly was assigned to St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish. In 1963 he was transferred to Nativity Parish in Watts, where he served until 1967 when he moved St. Gregory Nazianzen Parish. In 1969 he became pastor of St. Brendan. In 1976 Father Reilly beame administortor of Sacred Heart Parish in Covina was elevated to pastor in 1979. On January 21, 1983, Father Reilly became Monsignor Reilly as he was appointed chaplain to his Holiness Pope John Paul II. Finally in 1986 became pastor of St Robert. He retired in 2003, and now spends his time playing golf and helping out in the parish.
